what is Survivor: Tocantins?
Ten years after the premiere of Survivor: Borneo, production returned to the South American country of Brazil for the first time since Survivor: The Amazon in 2003. The main filming location was in the state of Tocantins, in the city of Palmas.
The season featured 16 new castaways divided into two tribes, Forza (Strength) and Jalapao (Jalapeño). The castaways were selected from a pool of over 700 applicants.
At the start of the game, the tribes were given a map and tasked with finding their respective campsites. The Forza tribe found their camp first, while the Jalapao tribe had to build their own shelter.
The tribes were instructed to live as primitively as possible, with no luxuries or comforts. The only tools they were given were a machete, a water canteens, and a pot.
The first tribal immunity challenge was won by the Forza tribe. The first tribal council of the season saw the Jalapao tribe vote out their leader, Sandy Burgin.
The next immunity challenge was again won by the Forza tribe. At the second tribal council, the Jalapao tribe voted out Joel Anderson.
The third immunity challenge was won by the Jalapao tribe. At the third tribal council, the Forza tribe voted out Spencer Duhm.
The fourth immunity challenge was won by the Jalapao tribe. At the fourth tribal council, the Forza tribe voted out Benjamin “Coach” Wade.
With the merge of the two tribes, there were ten castaways remaining in the game. The first individual immunity challenge was won by J.T. Thomas.
The second individual immunity challenge was won by Stephen Fishbach.
At the first post-merge tribal council, the Jalapao alliance turned on one of their own and voted out Timbira member Erinn Lobdell.
